The number of people killed in Thrusday’s devastating bombing in the Somali capital Mogadishu has risen to 17, according to the government.
“We can confirmed death of 17 people, most of those affected were people sitting outside the hotel and pedestrians,” Said Abdiaziz Ali Xildhibaan, the spokesman for the Ministry of Security
Mr. Xildhibaan said that a car loaded with explosives went off near Wehliye Hotel.
” A car loaded with explosives exploded shortly before 5pm (local time). Explosion occurred during the rush hour,” said Xildhibaan
He said most of the victims were bystanders and others who were having tea near the hotel.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack though Somali government blames Al-Shabaab for the blast.
