The Federal Government has deployed police vehicles to Beletwyene ahead of elections amid security concerns in the restive town.
An airplane carrying five vehicles and motorbikes landed in Beletwyene Saturday morning.
The deployment comes at a time the city which has witnessed instability in recent months is set to conduct Lower House elections from later this month.
A faction allied to former Somali National Army General Abukar Warsame Hud has been at loggerheads with the HirShabelle state forces since the election of president Ali Gudlawe early this year.
Communities in Hiiraan region have opposed the Gudlawe presidency arguing they were sidelined for the post in line with a rotational agreement.
Meanwhile the state Parliament is expected to elect new Senators this coming week.
