At least one person was killed and five others were wounded in a bomb attack in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu on Saturday night, police and witnesses said.
A witness said the attack came after assailants hurled a hand grenade at the residence of Deynile district commissioner, Mohamed Abukar Ja’far, who escaped the incident unhurt.
The deceased was a woman walking on the street, while the other five were two of the commissioner’s security guards and the other civilians.
The wounded have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment, according to the police.
No comment has been released yet by security forces for the attack.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but, al Shabaab often claims responsibility for the bombings in Mogadishu, targeting Somali government officials.
