Seven Soldiers Killed In Blast Targeting Jubbaland Troops Near Dhobley
At least seven soldiers belonging to Jubbaland state have been killed and several wounded in a landmine blast near the border town of Dhobley on Saturday, residents said.
The blast which has resulted from a remote-controlled roadside bomb struck regional forces travelling in a military convoy at Degamo village, located on the outskirts of the town.
The state forces engaged in a heavy gunfight with the attackers said to be Al Shabaab militants following the explosion that left seven soldiers dead, according to the sources.
Jubbaland administration is yet to comment on the attack which comes amid an increase of Al Shabaab ambush attacks against Somali and African forces in the country.
