South West state president Abdiaziz Hassan Laftagareen has sacked two ministers in a decree Monday and announced immediate replacements.
A statement from the presidential office in Baidoa stated Education Minister Abdirahman Osman Malak and his Labour counterpart Faysal Abdullahi Ali had with immediate effect been relieved of their ministerial positions. Also fired was deputy Education minister Jibril Mohamed Adan.
A spokesman from the president’ office said the education docket will now be headed by Mohamed Yusuf Hassan while Abdikadir Omar Abdullahi now be the labour minister. Abdifitah Isaac Mohamed becomes the new deputy minister for education.
Laftagareen came to office in December 2018 following a controversial election there that saw the killing of about 15 people in the build up to the poll.
