UN Condemns Aid Worker Killed In Mogadishu Car Bombing
The Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock has condemned the murder of an aid worker in Mogadishu car bombing.
“The humanitarian community mourns the loss of one of our own. Deepest condolences to Mr.Ibrahim’s family, loved ones, and the ICRC,” said Mark Lowcock in a statement.
Abdulhafid Yusuf Ibrahim, a member of ICRC staff has passed away Wednesday night after succumbing to injuries from a car bomb blast in the capital last weekend.
An improvised explosive device attached to Ibrahim’s private car detonated shortly after leaving the ICRC office in the Somali capital Wednesday afternoon.
Abdulhafid leaves behind a wife and two daughters, ages one and two.
